Women and Courage: The Many Faces of Leadership
The Team & Leadership Center is excited to be starting a new Leadership Series for Women on the Cornell campus and in the community. To offer this program Amy Kohut has been collaborating with Linda J. Tompkins from The Engineering College, Vivian Relta from Cornell CITE, and Carol James, a local educational consultant and one of our CTLC Sr. Facilitators. This will be a workshop series for women, with programs offered regularly throughout the year, and based on the values of connection, the power of conversation, fun and playfulness, and self awareness. All will be directed towards Leadership, and the ability to look at Leadership through many different lenses. The workshops we have scheduled to date are:

December 11: Strengthening Your Voice: Meaningful Messages Delivered with Impact- Linda J. Tompkins
Do you fear public speaking? Struggle for the right words to convey your message? Sabotage yourself?
- Learn basic and advanced speaking skills of successful leaders
- View video and live demonstrations of the how-to's
- Have fun practicing in a safe and supportive environment
- Receive specific, constructive feedback to further guide you
- Take home useful resources
Linda J. Tompkins, Associate Director of Engineering Learning Initiatives at Cornell University, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to workshop facilitation. She has a masters of secondary science education, is a certified facilitator for Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and is currently completing Facilitation Certification for Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People training workshops. Linda has also won numerous Toastmaster Speech competitions, has presented her work at local, state, and national conferences, and has over 16 years of teaching and facilitation experience.
