Learn the techniques, tools and skills to be a more effective leader of your chapter. This Leadership Academy is designed to enhance your capabilities as a new member educator, mentor, trainer and chapter leader. By developing personal leadership skills, participants will be better equipped to provide support to a Chapter-wide and Cornell community-wide initiative for change. In addition, this one-credit course will appear on your transcript and strengthen your resume for employment or other post-graduate pursuits.
UNIVERSITY SUPPORT The senior administrative leaders at Cornell believe strongly in the importance of this initiative; they have agreed to fund 50% of this program and meet with participants during the series. This program was created by us with a strong collaboration with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs.

COSTS: $350 per chapter (covers 2 people) for tuition for the fall Academy+ $15 per person for the New Member Education Team Development which occurs in the spring semester of 2015 (what a steal!). Full payment is due prior to October 10, 2014.
That’s $375 for a New Member Class of 25 people, up to $750 for a New Member class of 50 people. • The actual cost totals $1500+ per chapter, but 25% of this cost is generously sponsored by the VP Office of Student and Academic Services.
*REQUIREMENTS: Individual participants are required to participate in all sessions of the program for academic credit • Individual participants must be chapter officers in Spring 2015 • Participating chapters must be planning to do intake/recruitment and new member education in Spring 2015
DATES: This program occurs in two parts, a 5-part evening series in the Fall, followed by a team development program for new members.
Part 1: LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Select either the Monday or Wednesday night series for your chapter, but not both. Two members of your chapter need to be in the same Section to go through the program together. Dinner is provided for all sessions!
Monday Series: 5-8pm on October 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17*
Wednesday Series: 5-8pm on October 22, 29; November 5, 12, 19*
*Both Sections: 6-7pm on Thursday, October 23 there will be a networking event with trustees and Greek alumni
Part 2: NEW MEMBER EDUCATION
As part of your New Member Education plan, you will be expected to schedule a team development session (either on campus or at the Hoffman Challenge Course) for your new members. The deadline for holding this event will align with the end of the New Member period.
