Wellness Rock Climbing
Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced rock climber, why not spend your lunch break on the climbing wall? If you have ever wanted to try rock climbing, Cornell is the place to begin! Our Wellness Rock Climbing course requires NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE. While many of our climbing courses are taught by undergraduates, Wellness Rock Climbing is taught by Cornell staff instructors. For the beginner, the course introduces you to rock climbing equipment, knots, rope handling, belaying, safety, and various climbing techniques. For the more experienced climber, this class will provide an opportunity to learn more advanced techniques and hone your climbing skills in a supportive instructional environment. Classes have at least a 1:4 instructor-to-student ratio, ensuring a high degree of individual attention. Wellness Rock Climbing meets ten times for a one-hour climbing session during the lunch hour. Graduates of the class will be certified to belay at the Lindseth Climbing Wall and will be on their way to climbing on their own for fun and fitness. Open to the Cornell Community.
Courses are open to everyone. Students can enroll on Student Center. Anyone may also enroll by contacting Amy Woodin:
