Mountain Biking - Fall Break

Mountain Biking - Fall Break

NEW!!! MOUNTAIN BIKES ARE AVAILABLE FOR USE DURING THIS COURSE FOR A $50 FEE. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN BIKE. Fall Break. The hills of Pennsylvania beckon: green, rural, bursting with autumn colors and the perfect scale to explore by bike. We'll warm up on the renowned trails of nearby Shindagin Hollow State Forest, then take a road trip to Central Pennsylvania. We will spend four days touring a vast network of trails on our fat-tired contraptions. Cruise along single track trails, climb hills, navigate rock gardens and fly past pastoral fields; not without stopping to savor the fall foliage along the way. If you dream of miles and miles of narrow, dry, all-natural single track; a strip of dirt, rocks, logs and roots threading through the forests and fields calling your bike ---- this trip is for you. Designed for adventurous beginners with minimal off-road experience, as well as seasoned bikers looking to explore new destinations, you can expect to hone skills for riding a variety of trails. A balance of instruction and riding will cover: cycling and handling skills from cadence to navigating trail obstacles, equipment selection, environmentally conscious riding, map and compass use, riding etiquette, natural history and trail side repairs. Small group travel and plenty of instructors ensures no one is left behind. Expect to sleep under the stars, master the finer points of car camping, and return to Ithaca rejuvenated. All that is required is a mountain bike, a willingness to make new friends during group rides and a desire to have a great time. So shift into gear and come join us.
